Parents are asked to purchase a backpack for their child(ren) (in every grade level) prior to the first day of school.
*Please note that drawstring backpacks are no longer provided to Preprimary students as they were in past years.

When purchasing a backpack for your child, please keep these requirements in mind:

  • Your child should be able to carry their own backpack to build independence. Please do not purchase a backpack that is too large for him or her to carry.
  • All backpacks must be at least 14” tall to appropriately fit the school folder. The Pottery Barn Kids “mini” backpack is too small, but the “small” is acceptable.
  • Rolling backpacks or tote style bags are not allowed.
  • PK4 and Kindergarten students hang their backpacks on hooks. Their backpack may be any size, as long as it is not too large for the child to carry.
  • PK2 and PK3 students keep their backpacks in their cubbies. Please do not purchase a backpack that is overly large as it will not fit in the cubby with their other personal items.

Here are some examples of backpacks that are an acceptable size:

Any Pottery Barn Kids size “small” or "large" backpack (depending on child's age/size)

Target Wildkin backpacks
