PK3 through fifth grade students attend weekly scheduled classes instructed by the physical education teacher.

Emphasis is placed on physical fitness, and each class begins with various types of cardiovascular activity. Students are given the opportunity to explore movement activities as well as instructional foundations for successful movement. Foundational skills are taught in each unit of activity. Creative movement and self-expression are encouraged. A wide variety of activities are provided so that each student can find areas of success and will be encouraged to continue lifetime sport and leisure activities. Skills are taught in a progressive manner in order to build upon the developmental progress of each grade level. In addition, the students have opportunities for free play that encourages social skills, fun, and physical activity.

The physical education curriculum develops the physical skills of the total child and promotes growth in all areas.

Skill development, good sportsmanship, and cooperation with others reinforce the curriculum and values of the school. A variety of teaching techniques are used to meet the needs of the students and to challenge them during their years spent at Christ Church School.
