CCS Brings The Cup Home!
It had all the drama of the Ryder Cup. Having four grade levels completing their rounds, Christ Church School and Pine Crest were deadlocked on top of the leaderboard with 13 team points each. Finally, the last teams made their way back to the scores table after their final hole. The drama was over - CCS clinched the tournament with their 2nd grade team of Hudson Fee and Louis Letourneau turn in the lowest score. The final standings for the 2018 Fort Lauderdale Fall Elementary Golf Tournament was Christ Church School 17, Pine Crest 16, Westminster Academy and Bayview Elementary each with 8 points. As always, we are thankful for Coral Ridge Country Club hosting such a great tournament, with 40 golfers hitting the course.
Also placing first place with a two-hole sudden death playoff win were fifth graders Andrew Macdonald and Natasha Bodmer. Earning second place finishes for CCS: 1st grade team of Logan Procacci and James Melnicoff; 3rd grade team of Ashley Balcom and Jack Melnicoff; and 4th grade team of Liam Johnston and Caeleigh Richardson. It was a total team effort to bring the Cup home to CCS. This is CCS' second win out of the three Elementary Golf Tournaments so far.
Golf Tournaments take place each Fall and Spring, with the next tournament scheduled for Sunday, May 5, 2019, at the Coral Ridge Country Club. We are always looking for first through fifth graders to join our golf team, so please contact Coach Sallade for more information if your child is interested.
As always... go Cheetahs!
