Student Council
The Student Council of Christ Church School is a vital service and leadership organization comprised of students in grades 1 through 5. The twenty member council is elected by the Elementary student body in the fall. Fourth grade students are eligible to serve as Secretary and Treasurer and fifth grade students may be elected to the President and Vice President offices.
Monthly meetings are held to address school-wide student concerns as well as plan various service and outreach projects. The Student Council also provides leadership throughout the school year at many student and parent functions including chapel, PTO and Christ Church events.
- Red Ribbon Week/Say No to Drugs Awareness – class ambassadors
- Trustee Day – speakers and chapel leaders
- New Parent Open House – uniform models
- Christ Church School Recognition Sundays – ushers and greeters
- Grandparents’ Day – greeters, speakers and servers
- Volunteer Recognition Reception – ushers and servers
- Friday Morning Door Greeters
- School Store Assistants
- Recycling Program facilitators
The Student Council also organizes and leads the following Outreach Programs:
- “Souper Bowl of Caring” Jeans and Jersey Day – donating food and money through a youth led national initiative coinciding with the NFL Super Bowl
- Muscular Dystrophy Association – “Shamrocks Against Dystrophy” – purchasing green and gold shamrocks near St. Patrick’s Day to send local children to a MDA summer camp
- Easter Outreach – providing needed funds to implement this program
