Enrichment

Christ Church School places a strong emphasis on traditional academics; however, the curriculum also includes enrichment programs that take students well beyond the basics. Students participate in a variety of exciting enrichment programs as a regular part of their studies. These include art, music, Spanish, physical education and access to the Science Lab and to current technology in the Library Media Technology Center (LMTC).

Music

Instills in students an appreciation of music by providing them with experiences that include all musical styles, cultures, and subject areas across the curriculum. Singing, playing instruments, moving, listening and performing as well as learning about music theory, history and instrument families are a part of the curriculum that teaches students about the joy of music.

Spanish

Provides visual, auditory and tactile opportunities in Spanish through which the students will learn basic vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation, both written and oral, while being exposed to Spanish-speaking cultures.

Physical Education/ Health

Provides students with a foundation for lifetime fitness by providing sequential locomotive, non-locomotive and cognitive skills through games and drills that encourage foundational skills of movement and problem solving within the boundaries of sportsmanship. Additionally, the curriculum raises student awareness of dangers of drug use, emotions and relationships, good health and developing a positive self-image.

Technology

Utilizes and integrates technology to teach students foundational technology skills and concepts, and apply those skills to conduct research, demonstrate creativity, communicate and collaborate, think critically, solve problems, and complete projects that will empower them to live productively in an increasing digital society. Additionally, technology is used as a tool to facilitate learning and engage students in activities that interconnect educational technology skills and learning strategies across the core curriculum.

Library

Allows students to acquire the skills necessary to select, evaluate, and use information appropriately and effectively in a sequential and orderly progress from readiness to mastery. Additionally, the curriculum encourages the development of life-long learning skills to become effective users of information and develops an appreciation for literature.
